Fees

Sessions with our Senior Clinician, Cynthia Schoppmann, are $180/hour. Cynthia is also able to direct bill Medavie Blue Cross (has experience working with military and veterans) as well as Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) (for First Nations, Inuit & Métis that are covered through the program).

Our Associate Therapists offer individual and couple’s counselling sessions at rates varying between $120/hour to 150$/hour based on their years of professional experience.  Some Associate Therapists may also offer sliding-scale options.  Please inquire directly with the therapist that you are interested in working with for further information.

Our Counselling Interns offer services at a reduced rate of 80$/hour. However, we also have sliding-scale rates and limited pro-bono spaces available in order to make our services more accessible.  Please speak to the counselling intern directly about these options.

  • What is a sliding-scale rate?
A sliding scale rate would be a lower rate than what we standardly charge and would be discussed and negotiated with your therapist based on your current financial circumstances.
  • What is a pro-bono space?
A pro bono space would allow an individual to access free counselling sessions with their therapist for a determined period of time. Limited pro bono spaces are available and eligibility is assessed case by case by reviewing each individual’s financial circumstances.

Please book a free consultation with one of our associates or counselling interns to further discuss these options and to determine if they may be the right fit for working with you.

Free consultations: Free short consultations (usually about 15 minutes in length) are available with any of the practice’s therapists. This short introduction is a great way to get a feel for the therapist’s approach and to ask any questions that you may have. These consultations are not meant to replace an actual counselling or psychotherapy appointment. Therefore, you will not be going into great detail surrounding your presenting concerns during this brief meeting.

Methods of Payment

We accept cash (exact change), cheques, e-transfers or credit card methods of payment when services are delivered in-person. For tele-consultations (video or telephone services), e-transfers and credit cards are the only methods of payment currently accepted.
